Newspaper Article on Strawberry Breakfast or Dessert Crepes!
I love these cookies. Moist and all the flavors of fall . . .
Pumpkin Cookies
½ cup shortening 1 ½ cup sugar 1 egg 1 cup pumpkin (Libby’s) ½ cup nuts 2 ½ cups flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda ½ tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. cinnamon Optional: 1 cup raisins or dried cranberries or chocolate chips
Mix and bake at 375° for 10 minutes. It makes about 25-30 cookies.
Thanksgiving is coming and I am starting to think about appetizers. I will start posting some of my favorites. If you didn't see the earlier Carmelized Pears & Prosciutto, look at my earlier postings (Yummy!).
Here's one that is so easy it's embarrassing:
1 pkg. fresh mozzarella 1 jar roasted red/yellow peppers and/or sliced Prosciutto, cut in strips and/or Italian dressing
Cut mozzarella into bite sized cubes. Roll a piece of pepper around it and secure with a toothpick. You can also do the same with Prosciutto strips. This gives you a selection (peppers or meat with your cheese). The peppers are great for vegetarians. You can also marinade the mozzarella cubes in a very good Italian dressing overnight. Keep watching for more tasty treats!
